WORTH Ministries Inc. Board of Directors Bios.

The Board of Directors are the individuals who are responsible for the overall governance of the ministry. They provide the guidance necessary to execute the organization’s Mission with integrity and fiscal responsibility in accordance to the WORTH’s Bylaws.

Each member of the board is a professional in the community and brings their area of experience and expertise to the board, along with a love for the Word of God, and passion to see women walking in their purpose.

 

Patricia Gilbert is the Founder and CEO of WORTH Ministries Inc. and currently serves as the Board President. 
 
With more than 15 years of experience serving women, Patricia also has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Church Education and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management.  Over the years, she has held many leadership ministry positions in her church, including Director of Sunday School, Adult Women’s Sunday School Teacher, Youth Director, and Small Group Facilitator for women 25-54. Patricia currently serves in several leadership positions in her church and believes it is important to fulfill God’s call to service according to Galatians 5:13-14.
 
Patricia has served as a conference speaker and teacher and has taught classes as an assistant professor for a nationally accredited Bible college. Her experience and passion for women has motivated her to dedicate numerous hours to counseling, mentoring, and encouraging woman from every age group and background. 

Deborah Brown serves as the Board VP and Treasurer for WORTH Ministries Inc. and has been part of building the ministry from its inception.
 
As a high school dropout and single mother, Deborah went on to receive her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in 2009 and hopes to use it in advancing the Kingdom of God. Armed with the God-given gift to teach and driven by a passion for prayer and intercession, Deborah also has served as Director of Prayer and a Sunday School Teacher at her church.
 
Forever committed to being a student of the Gospel and participating in church leadership training, Deborah continues to allow God to use her passion for the healing and the restoration of His daughters to mold her into the woman of WORTH God is calling her to be.

Dountonia S. Slack serves as the Board Secretary and Fund Development Committee Chair for WORTH Ministries Inc.
 
A non-profit consultant and business analyst, Dountonia is an experienced curriculum writer, biblical counselor, and Bible teacher. She is an active member of her church and community and serves on various non-profit boards and committees, including her roles as Development Officer for Pro(ACT) Community Partnerships, a United Way of Central Indiana Torchbearer, and a graduate of the DeVos Urban Leadership Initiative.
 
This mother of four boys accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 7. As a result, she is passionate about Christian education, missions, sharing the Gospel, reclaiming our youth for Christ, and encouraging Christian women to live wholly for Christ. With a solid doctrinal foundation, her goal is to share with the world that the Word of God supplies the answers needed to develop growing, spiritually empowered lives to the glory of God.
 

Curtis D. Gilbert, Jr. serves as the Chair of Marketing for WORTH Ministries Inc.
 
With a Certificate of Business Foundations from the Kelly School of Business as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies from Indiana University, Curtis has more than six years of experience with social media marketing and advertising. As Historian of the Alpha Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., he independently designed and maintained the chapter’s website and social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram which reached over 600,000 people. In 2011, he was selected as a recipient of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Indianapolis Alumni Scholarship Award and was honored at its national 100th Anniversary Celebration Black and White Ball. He continues to be involved with Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
 
Using his God-given creative, analytical, and communication skills, Curtis hopes to help WORTH Ministries Inc. in sharing their message of hope and freedom through the Gospel to women throughout the community.

Yvonne Matara is the Chair of Community Relations with the board of directors for WORTH Ministries Inc.
 
Since earning an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Alabama State University, Yvonne has earned her MBA from Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business in Marketing and Supply Chain management. She was on the board of Asante Children’s Theatre for four years where she served as Co-Chair of the Marketing Committee. Before her board membership with that organization, she served as a volunteer in marketing and publicity.
 
Working with women and youth has been a passion of Yvonne’s for many years. She has worked with various church youth departments and choirs and is active in her church. She hopes her previous nonprofit work, education, and career experience will help her make a lasting impact on WORTH Ministries Inc. and the women being served.
